Violinist, vocalist and composer Alicia Enstrom has given 91Classical a preview of her upcoming EP, Murmur.
Originally written for New Dialect’s Third Voice in 2019, Enstrom is releasing the three-part piece (with movements titled numerically) through ToneTree music.
In the era where a Grammy award winner can be recorded right in Finneas O’Connell’s bedroom, Enstrom has taken a similar route. She recorded every note of this sound-rich piece in her home. While a few samples are employed, most of the music was created by Enstrom’s voice (or, as she puts it, “my mouth”) and violin.
You can experience the piece here on video with animation by Enstrom herself, made on her iPhone.
