In Around the Sun, harpist Kirsten Agresta Copely takes you on a journey through a year’s cycle via soundscape. The album releases Friday January 31.

Even though she a now calls Nashville home, Copely spent many years living in New York. It was those harsh winters that inspired the track Winter’s Bone.

The opening is almost bare, with long, resonant notes filling space with haunting resonance. Electronic soundscape, added by her husband, producer Marc Copely, bring even more depth to what the harp is capable of. This is not the bright, classical harp as we know it.
