The conversation with Paul Vasterling was so good that we wanted to give you a little more.
Vasterling got his start as a pianist planning to major in music therapy in college at Loyola University – one of the first programs of its kind. In this bonus content from Classically Speaking, he describes how he moved from the practice room to the ballet studio, and where he starts when he looks at a new piece of music – including why dancers should know their music theory.
As seen in the picture above, Vasterling brought his choreography notes from the Nashville Ballet’s 2015 production of Peter Pan.
