Nashville Symphony: Concierto en Plaza

A free concert for the whole family, performed by the Nashville Symphony at Plaza Mariachi. Pops conductor Enrico Lopez-Yañez takes you on a musical tour of Spain and Latin America. Featuring principal oboist Titus underwood in music by Astor Piazzolla.
Vanderbilt Opera Theatre: Mansfield Park and The Ghosts of Gatsby

A chamber opera adaptation of Jane Austen’s beloved novel, written by British composer Jonathan Dove. The performance will include authentic period dancing. Combined with a production of Evan Mack and Josh McGuire’s 2018 work that tells the story of F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald.
Sound and Rhythm Drumming Studio: African Drumming Series

This class aims to be a rhythmic exchange, learning sounds on the djembe as well as accompaniments, breaks and solo phrases. Attendees will find commonalities with others and have serious fun learning and playing West African rhythms together.
Frist Art Museum: Eric Carle’s Picture Books

Art work from the five decades of Eric Carle’s career, with a special emphasis on the golden anniversary of “The Very Hungry Caterpillar.” The exhibit includes Carle’s signature collage illustrations from over twenty books, as well as reading nooks from which to enjoy the full stories.
